Helpful information when using Avis Car Rental at Reykjavik Airport

All travelers that wish to rent a car from Avis car rental service have to present a valid driver’s license in the driver’s name from their country of residence.

At this location, at Reykjavik Airport, all renters must have a minimum age of 18 years in order to rent a car from most of the car groups. Furthermore, you need to have held a full, valid driving license for at least 12 months at the start of your rental. It is worth noting that Avis also provides car rentals at the nearby Keflavik Airport.

Drivers who are 18-19 years old are subject to an additional young driver fee. The young driver’s surcharge is 1.000 ISK (incl. tax) per day.

Drivers must be at least 23 years old to rent luxury cars and other cars from the specialty vehicle categories.
